SOFT POWER Tool presented in April edition of Bodo's Power

Article will show how the use of proven simulation methods provides a reliable tool for faster time to market maximizing engineering resources. Predicting the behavior of cores under realistic circuit application conditions allows making an optimum material and core selection. This requires the calculation of parameters such as AL-value of gapped cores including fringing flux effects, inductance and core losses under DC-bias based on hysteresis modeling, transferable power under sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal excitation and EMI suppression and AC winding resistance.
